Once we had visited Brandon’s family in Bewdley, we were given a ride by Heather and her husband ( amazing people) to the Birmingham airport. Unfortunately we were stopped at boarding with the airline telling us that since my passport was expiring within 3 months and we were not able to enter into Italy and that I needed to have an updated passport. It was 10am, on a Friday…needless to say I was freaking out because I thought I had ruined our honeymoon…I contacted the US Embassy in London via email (it was the only way to contact them) I was contacted an hour later stating that I had an appointment for my passport at 1300…it was 11 ( we were in Birmingham) and We were 2 hours from London by high speed train… we ran to the ticket station and ran to the train, hopped on a taxi and made it to the embassy with 5 minutes to spare, how? I HAVE NO IDEA! I was told that minimum for getting a passport updated was 2 hours, miraculously I was in and out within 30 minutes (it was amazing since Brandon had to wait outside the embassy because only the person with the appointment was allowed inside). We stayed the night in London and booked a flight for the next day….allowing us to get to Venice in the afternoon the following day.. we wondered Venice, walked the entire island twice in a day and drank the best “spiked” Jamba juice drinks. Here is a little bit of documentation from our time in Venice, I hope you enjoy! (Pictures don’t do it justice at all)
